Standard Field Sobriety Testing involves a series of three tests:
The Police Officer will give you specific instructions for each test and will grade them accordingly. The testing is completely subjective, that is, the result of your test depends upon what the Officer grading your test wants to do. You should NEVER take these tests.
NEVER take any of these tests. There is no legal requirement to take any field sobriety tests. There are a number of things that can cause you to fail these tests other than being intoxicated. These can include: nervousness, illness, inner-ear problems, fatigue, physical disabilities, weather, lighting, coordination, weight and age. Additionally, the Police Officer who already thinks you are intoxicated will be grading your tests. Why else would they ask you to take them?
Just tell the Police Officer that you would like to call an attorney before taking ANY tests and CALL US IMMEDIATELY at 918.582.2520.
